The Dalles-River Front Trail

The Dalles River Front Trail hugs the south bank of the Columbia River from the Gorge Discovery Center to River Front Park. It is planned to extend farther east, to near The Dalles Dam, in the near future. The trail is mostly complete, but does not extend fully between the Discovery Center and River Front Park, so pay attention to signs that show entrances and exits off of West 1st St. and River Roads.

Start at Salmon Cyclery and head west on 2nd Street

Turn right on Union Street

Cross beneath I-84 overpass. The Riverfront Trail goes east and west from here. Bearing right it is about one mile to River Front Park where the trail’s east extension is still under construction. Bearing left the trail follows West 1st Street about one mile to River Road

Bear right on trail near intersection with Klindt Drive
